Ludus Athletics Miami Beach Model Volleyball TournamentOn March 31 Ludus sponsored its first annual 2012 “Ludus Athletics Miami Beach Model Volleyball Tournament.” Participating modeling agencies included Wilhelmina, Next, Ford, and Elite. The event was also attended Olympic US qualifiers and number four-ranked team in the world April Ross & Jennifer Kessy as well as 2012 Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year model Nina Agdal. Irie FoundationOn October 28, 2011 Ludus hosted Dante’s Inferno, a Halloween costume party benefiting Irie Foundation and USA for UNHCR. Guests were invited to a haunted Miami Beach mansion, where they made their way through meticulously decorated realms of heaven and hell. Angels, cupids, and harp players charmed guests in heaven, while ghastly creatures frightened those passing through the dark realms of the underworld. DJ Brooke Johnston, kept the outdoor event jumping late into the night. Blue Key: Miami to DCOn June 22, 2011, Ludus transformed the terrace of the W Hotel into an ultrachic Miami lounge for the Blue Key: Miami to DC fundraiser. Washington’s movers and shakers danced the night away in P.O.V lounge, converted for the night into the hottest club in DC featuring Miami’s top DJs — Julian Ingrosso of Mynt Lounge and Jason Vernau of Set, Shore Club, and the Fontainebleu. The event was attended and hosted by a diverse group: ambassadors, prominent members of the Washington’s business and social circles, actors, and athletes. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ring girl Arianny Celeste and fighter Tiki Ghosn served as event MCs. UN Refugee Agency Representative to the United States and the Caribbean Vincent Cochetel, Ludus CEO Hamed Wardak, and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones spoke about the need to support refugees worldwide and thanked guests for supporting Ludus and USA for UNHCR. Ludus and USA for UNHCR Raise Funds and Awareness for Flood VictimsOn January 26, 2011, Ludus and the United States Association for UNHCR, hosted a star-studded fundraiser and fashion show at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event raised awareness about the on-going humanitarian crisis resulting from flooding in Pakistan during the summer of 2010. United Nations Refugee Agency Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie delivered a special video-taped message about the plight of Afghan refugees, and UFC Champ Anderson Silva donated a pair of signed gloves as a part of the event’s silent auction. Vincent Cochetel, UN Refugee Agency Representative to the United States and the Caribbean and Hamed Wardak, Ludus CEO spoke about desperate need for humanitarian aid. Also in attendance were Zalmay Khalilzad, fomer U.S. ambassador to Iraq and Afghanistan; actress Azita Ghanizada; Marc Breslaw, executive director of USA for UNHCR; Sonia Nassery Cole, producer of “The Black Tulip” and founder of the Afghanistan World Foundation; Mozhdah Jamalzadah, host of Afghan TV program – Mozhdah; and Riffat Masood, Consul general of Pakistan. |
